Sustainability

As part of Clarion Events, Imago Techmedia are committed to long-term reduction and mitigation of our emissions and we are part of their pledge to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030 and reach Net Zero by 2050 at the latest.

We work with suppliers who share our values and beliefs and support us in developing better ways of working. This includes working collaboratively to ensure that together we achieve wider environmental and social benefits.

AV

The AV equipment supplied were the most energy efficient in the price range when purchased. Whenever they need replacing, the energy consumption is reviewed to ensure better energy saving devices are purchased.

Carpet

The carpet used is not only environmentally friendly, it is “Cradle to Cradle Certified”®, which is the global standard for safe, circular, and responsibly made products.

Catering

The main event caterer has a herb cultivator and they grow all of their herbs in-house.

They support the local economy by sustainably sourcing their ingredients and using suppliers no more than 50 miles away, and by donating leftover packaged food to local charities.

They are also accredited by the Vegan and Vegetarian Society and offer a wide range of plant-based options.

Stand Build

Our stands framework and furniture are re-used, whilst graphics are recycled. To reduce transportation, all stand items are delivered to the show together in full vehicles that are modified to reduce carbon emissions and fuel consumption.

Venue

Behind the scenes, energy management plans are in place to reduce CO² emissions. Manchester Central are actively reducing their carbon footprint and are looking to offer carbon neutral events in the near future. They have introduced 160 smart meters to monitor their energy usage and target areas of inefficiency, and in the last 2 years they have reduced their energy bills by more than a third.

Manchester Central has an onsite recycling and waste sorting centre, which has reduced the amount spent on waste removal by 50%.

They have also put measures in place to divert all their waste from landfill and use it to harvest energy to produce electricity and steam for thermal heating
