Let’s start at the very beginning

It’s a very good place to start, after all.

You might remember us as DTX Manchester Tech Week. We launched in 2022 with the aim of building a vibrant Fringe programme around one of our core events - DTX + UCX Manchester, the North’s largest digital and IT event.

The Fringe programme

The Fringe programme grew year after year, alongside partnerships with industry and regional change-makers including Manchester Digital, Pro-Manchester, MIDAS, GM Business Growth Hub and techUK.

MTW has brought together organisations

MTW has brought together organisations of all shapes and sizes - from dynamic start-ups to global tech giants - and, more importantly, the brilliant minds behind them. We’ve seen events hosted by an incredible mix of businesses and communities right across the city.

In 2025, we became Manchester Tech Week

In 2025, we became Manchester Tech Week, stepping away from DTX Manchester Tech Week. We’re proud of our roots, but our vision now spans the entire tech ecosystem. Manchester is the UK's fastest growing tech sector after all!

To give you a flavour of the breadth, the 2025 programme featured a Cyber-lympics, a WealthTech Forum, a Microsoft 365 UK Meet Up, a Meet the Investors event for tech SMEs and, of course, plenty of sessions exploring AI and its impact.

Today

We’re in our rebrand era.

2026 marks the start of something new. We’re here to celebrate the superstars working across tech and keep building Manchester as a global destination for digital innovation and opportunity. To bring that vision to life, from 2026 we’re expanding from one to three core events, alongside a growing Fringe programme.
